Medior Electrical Engineer / Embedded Software Developer
About the position
The Role
You're joining SPINNOV as an Electrical Engineer who designs both the circuits and the code that drives them. Whether you lean more toward hardware or firmware, you'll own complete electrical systems, from architectural decisions through to production-ready designs.
Working at the intersection of hardware and software, you'll develop IoT solutions across industries: medical devices, industrial automation, smart infrastructure, and beyond. Each project brings different technical challenges, different constraints, and different opportunities to engineer scalable solutions.
Based in Veldhoven, you'll collaborate with mechanical engineers, software architects, and industrial designers to transform system requirements into production-ready electronics. Your PCBs won't gather dust in a lab, they'll ship in products that matter.
What are you going to do?
Design complete electrical systems. Translate system requirements into schematics, select components that balance performance and manufacturability, design multi-layer PCBs, and write the embedded code that brings it all to life.
Own the full development cycle. From initial architecture through prototype bring-up, testing, debugging, and design-for-manufacturing optimization. You'll collaborate with our manufacturing partners to ensure your designs transition seamlessly from prototype to volume production.
Solve real engineering problems. Power budgets. Signal integrity. EMC compliance. Thermal management. Real-time constraints. You'll tackle the full spectrum of challenges that come with designing production electronics.
Bridge domains. You'll be the technical interface between R&D and manufacturing, between firmware and hardware, between our team and suppliers. Your technical judgment shapes what gets built and how.
What You Bring
Foundation:
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent
5+ years designing schematics and PCBs for production
5+ years writing embedded software (C/C++, Python)
Fluent English for technical communication
Expertise in your domain:
Whether it's analog circuit design, digital systems, power electronics, RF engineering, or embedded real-time systems, you have depth in at least one area and curiosity about the rest.
Engineering mindset:
You think in trade-offs. You design for manufacturing. You debug systematically. You build scalable solutions.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation: €3,500 - €4,500 monthly (based on experience), plus 8% holiday allowance, travel allowance, and solid pension scheme.
Engineering environment: Work with talented multidisciplinary teams. Influence technical decisions. See your designs in production. Own your projects from concept to market.
Growth: External training opportunities. Freedom to explore new technologies. Exposure to diverse technical domains and industries.
Balance: 25 holidays. Modern tools and equipment. Office in Veldhoven with a team that values both technical excellence and good company.
