Our engineers designed and developed a low-cost sensor system combined with software algorithms to monitor the gas, water, CO2, methane, and oxygen content of the soil at regular intervals to ensure the long-lasting health of the tree patches.

Client and Goals

Green DMS is a Dutch tech company that has provided sensor technology since 2018 to monitor soil quality accurately and efficiently. Their custom SoilDash display soil quality data measured by grounded sensors to provide insights and tailor-made advice on possible soil condition improvement.

Challenges

Municipalities across the Netherlands are confronted with a concerning issue: a substantial portion of trees in urban environments is at risk of perishing, with one out of every three trees facing this predicament. In response to this ecological challenge, our dedicated team of engineers has conceptualized and created an innovative solution.

We've successfully designed and developed a cost-effective sensor system, expertly paired with advanced software algorithms. This sophisticated technology is programmed to systematically monitor and analyze the key environmental factors affecting tree health. These parameters include gas levels, water content, CO2 concentration, methane presence, and oxygen levels within the soil.

By implementing this groundbreaking system, we aim to safeguard and prolong the health of urban tree patches, fostering a more sustainable and vibrant urban environment. This project represents a commitment to preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance of our cities while addressing a significant issue faced by municipalities.
