We designed and implemented vehicle communication software in trams and busses of Den Haag to regulate safety and to contribute to the operational performance, improving travel time, and comfort of public transportation. Its principal function is to exchange real-time information between vehicles and the central control room.

Client and Goals

Our client, Den Haag HTM, sought to enhance safety and operational efficiency in their tram and bus fleet. The goal was to implement vehicle communication software that would regulate safety measures while also contributing to the overall performance of public transportation. The primary objective was to improve travel time and comfort for passengers by facilitating real-time information exchange between vehicles and the central control room.

Challenges

One significant challenge was ensuring seamless integration of the software with the existing infrastructure of trams and buses operated by Den Haag HTM. This required thorough compatibility testing and coordination with various stakeholders to address any potential conflicts or technical limitations.

Another challenge involved optimizing the software to handle real-time data exchange efficiently, particularly in high-traffic areas or during peak hours. This required robust data processing algorithms and protocols to ensure reliable communication between vehicles and the control room under varying conditions.

SPINNOV’s Role

We designed and implemented vehicle communication software in trams and busses of Den Haag to regulate safety and to contribute to the operational performance, improving travel time, and comfort of public transportation. Its principal function is to exchange real-time information between vehicles and the central control room.

Now, over 150 healthcare providers rely on Tessa daily, leading to a reduction of 4 to 8 hours in physical care per client per month.
